Retire Your Car the Right Way

Every car has a story: the one that got you through a bad breakup, the minivan that hauled three kids and a dog to soccer practice for a decade, the workhorse that doubled up as your snowplow every winter, the truck that started every job with a cough and a prayer. And every car eventually reaches the point where the story is over. Whether that is a blown head gasket, a check-engine light that never turned back off, or a bumper that has more duct tape than metal. When that day comes, we are the next stop for your trusted car. We take vehicles in any condition, running or not, at all three of our yards.

Bring your title or acceptable paperwork and a valid photo ID, and we will weigh, grade, and pay you before you leave our car scrap yard. Call (833) 49-SCRAP with your vehicle’s details for a faster visit.

Where Does Your Car Actually Retire To?

Your car isn’t headed to some sad, quiet field to “rust in peace”. Once it is on our scale and you are paid, it gets drained, stripped down, and processed as scrap steel, the material a mill uses to roll out beams, rebar, and fresh sheet metal. Roughly 27 million tons of steel get recycled in the U.S. every year, and cars are one of the biggest reasons why. So instead of retirement, think of it more like reincarnation: the sedan that used to haul your groceries could come back as a bridge girder, a washing machine, or somebody else’s brand-new bumper. It’s a better second act than most cars get!

Junk Cars: What We Accept

Not sure if your vehicle qualifies? Describe it when you call us. We have taken in vehicles in far rougher shape than most people expect.

What You Will Need to Bring Along

Sort this part out ahead of time. Call if you are unsure what you have, and we can tell you what documentation will work before you tow it in.

How It Works

  1. Bring it in. Drive it if it runs; arrange a tow truck or flatbed if it doesn’t.
  2. Onto the scale. Your vehicle is weighed whole, same as any other load.
  3. ID and paperwork confirmed.
  4. Paid before you go, no waiting on a check.

Start to finish, most vehicle drop-offs wrap up in half an hour.

What It Pays

Your vehicle prices out as scrap steel by weight, plus whatever other metal rides along with it. Fluids, tires, and non-metal components are excluded from that weight. Steel, like copper or aluminum, tracks the broader commodity market, so a call ahead gets you a more accurate number before you commit to hauling it in.

FAQ

Do you take cars that don’t run?
Yes. Running or not is not a factor in whether we accept your vehicle, at any of our three yards.
A title in your name is the simplest option. Without one, bring a valid photo ID and a Bill of Sale, and call ahead so we can confirm what will work for your situation.
It depends mainly on your vehicle’s weight, since it is priced as scrap steel plus any other metal attached to it. We weigh it on our scale and give you a number on the spot.
It is processed as scrap steel, then sent to a mill to be melted down and rolled into new steel products, everything from construction beams to new vehicles.
A tow truck or flatbed works for vehicles that don’t roll or steer. If it still rolls, a pickup with a tow strap or chain can work too.
No. Bring it exactly as it sits; our team can handle the rest.
